i thought it meant use 2 different devices, aka my pc and my tablet. created the steam account and played for a bit. then downloaded the game on my tablet and linked the device using a code they sent to my email. now both devices are running the same account, but i did not complete the mission. any idea what they want?

You can use Device Link to connect your Shadowverse game data between multiple devices, such as smartphone and computer.
To link a device, you need to create a password using your original device and enter the password into the new device.
This guide will show you how to create a password and link your data.

* Make sure to use your most recent save data when creating your password.

Creating a Password (Using Your Original Device)

You will enter your password from the Link Data button on the title screen.

• Be careful not to input the wrong password as it can permanently overwrite your data.
• You can link your smartphone account to only one computer account. In addition, you cannot disable this link later.
• Existing Crystals will not be deleted by linking data, however will not be transferred between the smartphone and computer versions of Shadowverse.
• Because your computer account is linked with your Shadowverse user ID, you cannot play from a different computer account. If you wish to do this, uninstall and then reinstall the game using the desired account.
• The device link specifications are subject to change without notice.

Shadowverse: How to Link Steam and iOS Accounts

This guide is obsolete because Shadowverse now allows to link Steam and iOS accounts via a code.

The Problem: Can’t link my Steam and iOS accounts.

I’ve recently started playing Shadowverse on Steam. It’s a collectible card game with many similarities to Hearthstone, but with its own Japanese style. Some people call it “Hearthstone with waifus”.

The game is a blast to play, so naturally I wanted to keep playing it on my iPhone as well. Only, I discovered a disheartening truth: the Steam account can’t be linked to the iOS account! The feature existed in the past, but was suspended on 28/12/16.

Shadowverse offers two different methods to link your accounts:

• Device Link: This is used to connect your account across different devices. You generate a link code on your main account, then enter it in your new device.
• Account Link: Connect the account to another service, such as Facebook or Apple’s Game Center.

The obstacle : Steam version supports only Device Link, whereas iOS version supports only Account Link. If you generate a link code on the Steam version, then you can’t use it in your iOS version. If you connect your iOS version to Facebook, then you can’t connect your Steam version to Facebook.

As I haven’t found any guides about how to solve this problem, I decided to share my own solution.

The Solution: Use Android as a “bridge”.

Steam and iOS versions may be incompatible with each other, but there’s another important player we’re forgetting about. Android supports BOTH the Account Link AND the Device Link .

This means, you can:

1. Connect Android with Steam via Device Link.
2. Connect Android with iOS via Account Link.
3. Now, your Steam and iOS accounts are connected as well, with Android serving as a bridge between them.

What if I don’t have Android?

Worry not! There are plenty of Android emulators available for PC. Here’s a list for you to pick from.

I personally recommend Nox App Player, as that’s the emulator I successfully used for this trick. It doesn’t require setting anything up and it works smoothly.

Once you have an emulator, all you need to do is:

1. Enter Play Store.
2. Set up a google account. If you already have gmail, then you can use that account.
3. Download Shadowverse.
4. Run Shadowverse and link it to your Steam and iOS versions.
5. Profit.

Don’t overwrite your main account!

Since you need to link three devices and you must do so in a specific order, the procedure may get a bit confusing. If you don’t pay attention, you may accidentally overwrite your main account and lose your progress!

Here’s how to do it right : Start the linking process from your main account and finish it on your new account. Your main account is the account you have already started playing in and made some progress with.

If you started playing on Steam and wish to link the account to iOS (like in my case):

1. Generate a link code on the Steam Version. In the main menu, go to “More” and there select “Device Link”.
2. The generated code will be sent to your email.
3. Copy the code into your Android version. On the title screen, select “Data Link” and input the link code.
4. Connect your Android version to Facebook . On the same screen in “Data Link”, you have the option to connect the Android version to Facebook. Make sure you only do this step AFTER you successfully linked Steam to this Android account.
5. Connect your iOS version to Facebook . Open “Data Link” on the title screen and connect to your Facebook account. Now, your Steam data should be available on iOS and both accounts will be synchronized.

If you started playing on iOS and wish to link the account to Steam:

1. Connect your iOS version to Facebook . Open “Data Link” on the title screen and connect to your Facebook account.
2. Connect your Android version to Facebook . Open “Data Link” on the title screen and connect to your Facebook account. Make sure you only do this step AFTER you successfully linked your iOS account to Facebook.
3. Generate a link code on the Android version. In the main menu, go to “More” and there select “Device Link”.
4. The generated code will be sent to your email.
5. Copy the code into your Steam version. On the title screen, select “Data Link” and input the link code. Now, your iOS data should be available on Steam and both accounts will be synchronized.

Unlike the mobile version the steam one doesn’t have the account link button in the title and @more beside the device link. Though you can device link your current account to the mobile version of shadowverse via emulator or actual device so you can get your steam version’s data and then you can proceed to do the account link via facebook/googleplay account.

Just wondering if I can get rid of the mission somehow? Or am I stuck with 2 mission slots instead of 3 if I don’t get the mobile version somewhere to link them?

They may decide to make it replaceable. Until then, if you don’t want the mobile version or can’t get it for some reason, try this:

Alright thanks! Yeah, I can’t, my smartphone is rather old and the game won’t work on it. I hope they add the possibility to skip that quest in the future.

Just use Bluestacks or amiduos to complete the quest on pc, its what i did anyway. Keep in mind i linked from steam ( producing the code) to bluestacks and then to my googleplay via bluestacks and got the 3 packs.
Dont keep bluestcks installed more than 30 days if you dont know how to bypass the trial period, bluestacks install some games without your permission in exhange of you keeping using it for free.
Amiduos has only a month period then you start running into issues once the trial is over if you dont plan to pay.

Bumping this because I’d like to see a response from the developers on what they intend to do about this. While I appreciate those who have found workarounds and posted them for others to use, the fact remains that it’s not very reasonable to expect players who are only playing the PC version to use an Android emulator to clear the mission.

In the meantime, it is blocking a mission slot and putting people at a disadvantage in terms of daily rewards.

I linked my steam data to my iphone and i still have the mission. Did i not link with another service?

You have to do Account Link and link with either Facebook and Google Play.

Yeah this mission sucks. Fills up a daily mission slot, and can only be easily accomplished by mobile device users.
Linking to another service should be optional.

You can use android emulator to clear the missions. Use device link instead to get your steam account on your phone or emulator.
